George Labelle is the Chief Information Officer at Independent Purchasing Cooperative (IPC) for SUBWAY® restaurants, where he has led the technology team for the past 18 years.  George develops and executes IPC’s enterprisewide IT strategy, a key component for the success of the SUBWAY® system as the largest quick-serve restaurant system in the world.  George also serves as CEO of PLXIS, IPC’s global payments division.  PLXIS manages offline and online payments for SUBWAY® restaurants worldwide, including credit and debit, gift card, and loyalty.

 

George is passionate about  developing dynamic cultures and high performing teams.  He is a sought after speaker who maintains that culture is the breakthrough key for increasing any company's productivity, profitability and shareholder value.

 

George oversees a diverse range of services at IPC, including digital strategy, enterprise architecture management, application development, IT infrastructure and operations, support, as well as security and risk management.

 

George’s team has received many awards over the years for their groundbreaking technology work in the QSR industry.  These include the CIO 100 Award, the InformationWeek Top Technology Innovators Award, ComputerWorld’s Best Places to Work Award, the QSR Applied Technology Award and the Hospitality Technology Edge Award.

 

George resides in Miami with his wife Laurie.  In his spare time, he serves as a Roman Catholic Deacon for the Archdiocese of Miami.
