Vonage’s President of Enterprise, Clark Peterson joined Vonage upon the Company’s acquisition of Telesphere, where he served as Chief Executive Officer.
Clark’s experience in both wireline and wireless areas spans almost 25 years, and has enabled him to hold key roles in telecommunications during a transformative time, serving with some of the most respected names in the industry.
Prior to his CEO role at Telesphere, Clark was President at Clearwire. As the first employee of Clearwire, Clark was one of the architects of the company’s business plan and helped to successfully establish its foundation and the period of rapid growth that followed. During his tenure, Clearwire launched into 28 markets, grew to more than 800 employees, acquired 88,000 customers and had a successful IPO.
Earlier, Clark served as President of XO Communications’ largest region. XO is one of the nation’s largest competitive local exchange carriers. There, he helped drive revenues just for the West Region of over $250 million. He also held several roles at NEXTLINK, including General Manager. While at NEXTLINK, he launched and built the company’s Las Vegas market, which became its highest positive cash-flow market.
Clark has also held senior management positions in the wireless industry, including Director of Sales and Marketing at AT&T Wireless Services, Director at McCaw Revenue Development, and Product Director for McCaw Cellular Communications/Cellular One.
In 2014, Clark was recognized as one of the Top 20 CEOs in the Telecom industry nationally and as one of Arizona’s Most Influential Business Leaders by AZ Business Magazine. He was also a regional semi-finalist for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year award. In 2013, Clark was recognized as “Business Leader of the Year” by the Governor’s Celebration of Innovation and the Arizona Technology Council. He was also twice awarded the honor of Top 40 Businessmen Under 40 in the state of Nevada.
Currently, Clark serves on the Board of Directors for the Arizona Technology Council; the Board of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale; and the Board of the Boy Scouts of America – Grand Canyon District. He is also the founding Chairman of the National Cloud Communications Alliance. Clark holds a business management degree from Brigham Young University.
