An award-winning journalist and technology conference moderator, Maryfran Johnson is Executive Director of CIO Programs for IDG. In this dual role, she spearheads the strategic direction of CIO’s extensive portfolio of national and regional events and works closely with the CIO Executive Council (CEC) in building a collaborative community of Chief Information Officers and IT executives. She also moderates CIO.com’s CIO Leadership Live video series of in-depth interviews with enterprise CIOs from some of the nation’s leading public and private companies.
Along with agenda development and speaker recruitment, Maryfran runs the CIO 100 innovation awards and CIO Hall of Fame programs. She also moderates the annual CIO 100 Symposium and 9 regional CIO Perspectives events and is well-known for her engaging stage presence and extensive knowledge of IT leadership issues. Maryfran brings more than 25 years of experience covering IT leadership, technology and business trends to her events, content development and coaching roles, along with an extensive (and treasured) network of CIO contacts built during previous leadership positions as Editor in Chief of IDG’s CIO and Computerworld magazines.
Maryfran also served in 2016-2017 as an adjunct researcher for International Data Corp.’s IT Executive Programs. She is a member of Babson College’s Women in Technology Advisory Board and holds a Master of Arts in Journalism from The Ohio State University’s Kiplinger Program and a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Florida.
